This is a boat that started out as a 20 foot cuddy cabin that had set for about 12 years, the deck had rotted but the stringers and transom seemed to be in good condition. i first converted the cuddy to a bowrider and after a couple years i decided to convert the boat to a center console!. I'm looking to convert my 1/2 cabin to a centre console. bought the 1/2 cabin figuring if family came along they would have some shelter. turns out they never have no interest and have never been on it for the last three years. my thoughts are to completely custom the whole thing to suit what i want for fishing.. converting cabin boat to centre console Re: converting to a center console i actually took the boat out today, nothing is wrong with the hull. the thing that will cost the most would be a new motor, which is actually the only thing the boat needs. the side console thing is just not practical for the kind of fishing i do, and i was not looking to build console.. Unlike a revenge 22/25 non-walk through where the cabin cap is laid on top of the curved combing of the bow, the 27 cabin is one piece that is integrated with the gunnels all the way around the permitter of the boat. it would not be a simple task to turn a 27 whaler (non ccc) into a fully open center console. starlight marine.
