Hire a boat from bowness beach or waterhead for 1 or 2 hour sessions. no boating experience is necessary as we provide full safety instructions, a sailing guide to the lake and buoyancy aids for everyone on board. if you get into trouble at any time, our safety boat will come to your rescue. our boats can be hired for 1 or 2 hours.. Rowing boats enjoy a classic rowing experience on coniston water . people have been enjoying the lake district by rowing boat since the 19th century. our rowing boats are lovingly maintained by our team to replicate the traditional boats you'll see on old postcards, making them both sturdy for everyone to enjoy, and beautiful for those. Coniston water is home to the famous steam yacht gondola, a beautifully rebuilt victorian steam-powered yacht originally launched in 1859; which evokes the sophistication of a bygone era. all four lakes also have watersport centres where you can hire your own boat – whether a row boat, a sail boat or even an electric one..
